STG Soundlabs .mix

(electronic musical notes) - [Narrator] Not all mixers are pure and not all of them distort a signal in an undesirable way. One of the most desirable and sought after distortions came from the Moog CP3 Oscillator Mixer that was in the original modular Moog. Several companies like STG Sound Labs have recreated that CP3 mixed circuit in mixers such as their dot mix. We're going to start with some simple wave forms so you can understand what is the magic behind this transistor mixer and then show it in practice using normal sawtooth waves. By the STG Sound Labs is only four hp wide, pretty narrow. Three inputs, one output. It's 33 milometers deep which isn't too bad. And it draws just a minuscule plus or minus 10 milliamp so it does not put a drain on your power supply. I'm going to start by taking a sine wave out of the disting and running it through the mixer. Just one of the inputs. Notice that the output has a positive and a negative side to it's master volume control. And looks for…
