- All right. Now key signatures. So rather than placing sharps and flats throughout the entire piece of music that you wish to be on certain notes, you can place them in a key signature. So if you see this, make sure to keep in mind that those sharps or flats are gonna be throughout the piece of music. Let's check out the next example that uses key signatures. Here we go. One, two, three, four. (slow guitar music) The next example uses key signatures as well. The previous example had sharps in the key signature, this one has flats. You never have both.
