Random*Source Serge Wave Multipliers: Overview and VCA

- [Instructor] Some manufacturers specialize in recreating circuits from synthesizers that came out of the '60s, the '70s, and '80s. For example, Random Source likes to recreate the module's original design by Serge produced modular system back in the '70s and '80s. One of my favorites of those is the wave multipliers. It provides three different ways of modifying your sound. This particular module is 18HP wide. Not too bad. And 37 millimeters deep, requires just 45 milliamps in the plus 12, and 40 milliamps in the minues 12 voltage rail. Now one thing to be aware of, of designs that follow original Serge or Puko designs too closely, is that those synthesizers are based on the audio coming through at line level, not at the ten volt or higher peak to peak that's common in Eurorack modules. So you might need to use mixers and attenuators to help compensate for that. For example, I'm going to take a copier of a sin wave out of here and go into the top section of the wave multiplier. When…
