Playing off the triad

Playing off the triad

- Here's a classic comping figure that you can hear on the famous Slim Harpo tune Scratch My Back. I calling it playing off the triad, because for each chord in the form, you play on, and then off the triad and back. So you're playing root three five, root four six, back to root three five. Now, not all blues are shuffles. This one has a funky feel. (funky blues music)
