- Pentatonic scales for Tune Up, we already have a few of them. The first scale that we would need would be an E Minor 7, to work on our... Then we would need an E Minor 6 to work on our A7. We already have those, we have those from, let's see what would it be, it was the Blues in E. We had the E Minor 7 on our first chord of that Blues. Then we had the E Minor 6, is what we were using on our A7 in that Blues, the second chord of it. So, let's hit the D Major 7 and on that, we're going to use our F Sharp Minor Pentatonic Scale which covers... It doesn't have the root in it, but the root is overrated. We try to not land too much on the root because that sort of says, "I've stopped." Let's look at the F Sharp Minor 7 Pentatonic Scale. Very simple fingering, these are the notes: F Sharp, A, B, C Sharp, E and F Sharp again.
