Open-position major scales in C, G, and D

- All right, we've played a lot of G and C and D chords, so let's check out some of those scales in open position. Since you guys have already learned the open position pretty well, we'll just have some new alterations and learn these scales. They're very important for you to know, but they're also really good finger exercises too. So let's check out the C major scale and these are just all the natural notes. No sharps and flats, so this is a bit of a review. Let's start from open E. Here we go. (guitar chord) An F. G. A. B. C. D. E. F. G. A. B. C. D. E. F. G. One more time. (guitar music) And now let's alter that by adding an F sharp, and this is the key of G major. Here we go. You have open E. (guitar chord) F sharp. G. A. B. C. D. E. F sharp. G. A. B. C. D. E. F sharp. And G. One more time. (guitar music) D major. So you have E. F sharp. G. A. B. C sharp. D. E. F sharp. G. A. B. C sharp. D. E. F sharp. And G. I'll play that one more time. (guitar music)
