- All right, so now let's go through the notes on the 5th string and the 6th string. So let's start out with the notes on our thickest E string. You have open E. (guitar chord) First fret F. (guitar chord) And third fret G. (guitar chord) On the 5th string we have open A. (guitar chord) Second fret B. (guitar chord) And third fret C. (guitar chord) So let's do some examples to help you out with those. Let's start out with an example for just working on the 5th string. Here we go. One, two, three, four.
