Mixing oscillator waveforms
(steady medium tone) - [Instructor] Now where a lot of users tell you you need more VCAs in your system, I'm going to tell you you need more mixers in your system, particularly mixers that don't just combine or attenuate signals, they can also invert them and add offset voltages to them, I refer to these as utility mixers, and they are indeed very useful, you'll be using them throughout a patch. Let me give you a couple examples here. For example, let's go ahead and add in our second oscillator back into this system, I'm going to go ahead and borrow the copy of our pitch control voltage, I've put one of my distings in mode 4C, which is a nice oscillator, bring it into X, which is a good control voltage input on it, in this case I'm going to borrow the sawtooth output which happens to be on BE. Normally I would route that to the external audio input, hold a note, (steady medium tone) and blend the two oscillators together. Now you hear the slight beating between them as they're…
