Improvisation and music theory

Improvisation and music theory

- All right, improvisation and music theory. Now I was just talking to a friend of mine about this, but if you're good at music theory, you're like good at everything else in life. You can cook better, you get more dates, just in general, music theory is a good thing for us musicians. But why do you need to know this stuff? Well the reason why is because you want to able to juggle this is real-time. You have to write songs better, you'll be able to improvise and think on-the-spot easier, so it's just a good thing to know. And I want to talk with you guys about that a little bit. Also, with improvisation, and making up solos, it's kinda good if you starts doing that even now, if you're a beginner. Of course, it's great to learn other people's solos, for their own ideas, but also get used to thinking on-the-spot and just making up melodies on-the-fly, because eventually that will just grow and you'll get better and better at it as you continue to do it.
