- [Instructor] Another issue that songwriters faced when it comes to their craft is knowing whether or not their songs are finished. And listen, I've been doing this long enough to know that on some level, a song is never finished. I get it. However, at some point, you've got to kind of call it done, and move on, or you'll never get anywhere. So I'm going to propose a couple of things to keep in mind when it comes to knowing whether your song is finished. First and foremost, if you're new to the process, you might want to consider a professional song critique. There is something about showing your song to someone who has written thousands of songs, to your maybe four or five songs, where they can help you understand whether you have achieved what you were hoping to achieve in your songwriting process.
