How to prepare for and practice these exercises
- No matter what kind of singer you are, and what level of experience or inexperience you have, if you want to learn embellishments, there is a few simple steps that you do need to follow that will help make it easier and assist you in fast learning. The first is to learn the notes. So, you know, you're listening to a singer sing, and you hear "Blablablabla," and it's a blur. So if you can play piano, or you have a friend who can do that, it might be assistive to just get that little section where you hear the embellishment and plunk it out. Or you just have to listen to it over and over again. I find that not having it on CD, but rather having a song on your computer that you can actually see the counter numbers and see exactly where that embellishment starts. So you can bring it to play right at that point and just play it over and over and begin singing it. Don't care about anything other than the notes first. Grab a few of them, sing them, sing them slowly, then see if you can…
