Happy Nerding Super Sawtor
(synthesizer plays) - Sometimes a module only does one thing and does it really well, and that's the case with the Super Sawtor from the Ukraine-based company, Happy Nerding. Only six HP wide, it's not too deep at 37 millimeters, and it only draws plus or minus 45 milliamps. The one thing that it does is take one input waveform and make it sound like a mass of detuned sawtooth waves. So if you only have one oscillator in your semi-modular or starter synth, it can suddenly sound like it's got a lot of oscillators playing in unison, slightly detuned. Now, since it is specialized on the sawtooth wave, I'm going to start by demonstrating a sawtooth, but it also does very nice things with sine waves and triangle waves. So on my Disting I'm going to just swap around here to sync off the sine wave and process the sawtooth wave through this particular module. Take the output from my sawtooth, put it to the input of the Super Sawtor. No problem. And then take the output of the Sawtor, run it…
