Exercise 4 instructions: Jazzy R&B embellishment

- Embellishments often go down a few notes, come back up a note, come back down a few notes, go up a note, and we've dealt with at least one like that so far. This next one does exactly that. We're going to use some words in this embellishment, so you've got a full phrase. The phrase is, "I ought to know," and so we should. "I ought to know," and the embellishment is on the word "know." ♫ I ought to know ♫ That's the rhythm. ♫ I ought to know ♫ (laughs) Okay, so the notes are ♫ I ought to know-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh ♫ I ought to know-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh ♫ Bum ba da da dum ♫ Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ♫ Except it's faster. There's a bass line that's really cool, and donk donk, da donk donk donk, and then you'll hear this little instrument sound that gives you, actually, your starting pitch. I'm going to point it out as we use some of this track for me to show you how it goes. (jazzy music) Four, now. ♫ Ought to know-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh ♫ Three, four. (high synth note)…
