- [Instructor] To take FM to the next level you want to dynamically alter the depth of modulation between the modulator and carrier oscillators. Some oscillators will have the separate control voltage input or the step control. If the oscillator you've chosen doesn't that's when you need another VCA and another envelope generator. So to get dynamic FM out of this I'm going to go ahead pull this modulation cable for now, run a longer cable, to the input on my VCA down here, steal this longer cable for a second, take the output, bring that back into my modulation input. I've already set up a gate to trigger my second envelope here. Let's have output of that envelope open and close the VCA so I get dynamic change in depth. Right now I have the VCA's level turned up. So I'll have an FM sound. Turn down the CV mount for now. (sound diminishes) Adjust the peer triangle. Here's the modulated triangle. Same as changing this control.
