Creating a basic sound patch

(electronic buzzing) - [Instructor] Most synthesizers come with loads of preset sounds, where all you have to do is recall a preset, start playing the instrument, and you get instant gratification, you get something lovely out of it. However, modular and semimodular synthesizers, such as the Moog Mother-32 are considerably different. The front panel is live at all times. That means these settings are the sounds you're going to get. There is no preset. These have been set to something random, well you're going to get a pretty random sound. In this movie, I want to show you some good initial settings for these controls as a starting point for you to create your own sounds. Now, as I mentioned in the previous movie, make sure that your volume's up, otherwise, as you play notes, you'll hear nothing.
