- [Instructor] So as we get into compression, it's just important that we have a vocabulary that we're sharing together. And what I wanted to do was go over some really basic compressor settings and just the whole concept of compression in general, because I feel like getting on the same page will help us as we go along this journey and look at different types of compression and different applications for it. So I have a vocal here, this is a chorus vocal. And basically, it's in stereo, because there was some committing that happened for the stem and that's okay, it was recorded in mono, though. And so let's have a listen to this. Right now, we just have some simple tuning, a little bit of EQ, nothing crazy, and a little de-essing and then a little bit of EQ at the end, giving us some top end and some presence, so let's listen. ♪ Oh I keep losing my way ♪ - [Instructor] And here it is, without any effects.
