- [Instructor] The final step in the process of licensing your song is to let everyone know about it. This is the fun part. Half the reason you're working so hard to license your songs is to build a resume of placements and get new fans and industry attention. Now is the opportunity to do just that. Hopefully, you've been able to figure out when the TV spot or ad is airing, or when the trailer or video game is being released. Given enough lead time, you should schedule social posts, and send an email update to your fans. Here are a few tips for doing just that. Twitter, identify the handle of the TV show, video game, etc. as well as any key people and companies involved, like a director, music supervisor, network, and production company, and make sure to tag them in your tweet. Remember, Twitter now allows 280 characters per tweet. This will up your chance of getting retweeted, thus gaining more followers and industry attention.
