(bluegrass guitar music) - Welcome to course four. To this point we've covered a lot of the fundamentals of flat picking and bluegrass guitar. Discussed this concept of flat picking flow which is kind of everything put together, the big picture of consistent tone, consistent groove, consistent musicality. Here in course four we're gonna dip a little more into the musicality through opportunities to be a little more expressive through feel, through a specific technique called crosspicking.
It allows what are normally more linear kind of lines in flat picking to be more roll oriented, and as a result a different sort of musical opportunity there and a really fun thing to get into. It's a real challenge. But certainly enhances what we can do with bluegrass guitar. Also looking into more challenging versions of some of the songs that we've looked at, songs that will really challenge the fretting hand and that continued synch between the two hands and that continuing effort to be settled and be relaxed as we play.
So have fun with course four.
