Adding a second oscillator

Adding a second oscillator

(synthesizer music) - [Instructor] One of my favorite ways to fatten up a synthesizer sound is to add a second oscillator. That way, I can have the sound of two oscillators detuned and coursing with each other, or tune them to musical intervals, maybe octaves apart, fifths, something like that. I mean, one oscillator on the Mother-32 does sound nice. (synthesizer music) But it would sound even nicer with two. I've left the envelope patch intact from the previous movie, because it's something I use all the time, so we might as well leave it there. Right now, we're going to add onto it by bringing a second oscillator into play. Now, the Moog Mother 32 is an analog instrument. Circuitry inside, except for the sequencer, of course, is all analog circuitry, and it has a certain sound and a certain warmth to it. To help extend the range of the Mother 32, I kind of like the idea of adding a digital oscillator as my second oscillator. And the Braids is an example of a very versatile digital…
