(electronic notes) - [Narrator] Now let's move beyond just repatching the modules that are built into the Mother-32 and actually adding external modules to add to its capabilities. This particular case, I want to add an envelope generator, another one of these attack/decay sections. In this case, I'm using a Roland 540, just two envelope-generator sections, and also adds an extra LFO into the mix. Here's the reason I want to add an envelope to the Mother. If I'm just playing short notes, I get pretty similar articulations. (short electronic notes) However, if I want to sustain a note, I have to make a choice. Do I want everything to be sustained at full volume? (long electronic note) Full filter cutoff? Full volume from the VCA? Or do I want there to be no sustain, where everything dies to silence, decided by this decay control? (short electronic notes) It gives me that nice "bow" sound from the filter.
