AJH Synth Ring SM: Overview and mixer

AJH Synth Ring SM: Overview and mixer

(buzzing) - In the next few movies we're going to look at a multi-function module. The RingSM from AJH Synth. AJH is known for doing really nice minimoog recreations in some of their modules, and some of their other functions are also inspired by old remote systems. This one is a ring modulator. It could also function as a five input mixer, and also as a very nice sub bass section. It acts a bit different than other sub octave dividers. It's 14HP wide which isn't bad for multi-function module, and only 30 millimeters deep, and it draws 55 milliamps on the plus 12 volt rail and 50 milliamps on the minus 12 volt. Let's start with something really simple, the mixer, then we'll work our way through to get to the re-modulator. I take our output, which is our sine wave, plug it into one of the inputs, the knobs on the RingSM are dual-function. It's either, in this case, the ring modulator level, or the level of input one if something is plugged into it. I have my output level cranked up…
