Editing your melody

- After editing your lyric, it's really important that you stop and ask yourself a couple of questions when it comes to your melody. Once of the first things that you wanna think about is making sure that your verse melody is interesting. Again, and I've talked about this a little bit before, the melody is really what the listener attaches to first when they're starting to get familiar with your song. So lyrics are a really important part of a song, but they are not the first thing that a listener will notice. And again, the catchiness of that verse melody is hugely important. Now, when I say catchy, and even if I use a term like unique, there's a danger in doing something to be catchy or unique that could lead you towards more of the bizarre or uncomfortable. That's not what I'm talking about. Being unique, you know, for its own sake, is not what I mean. But just make sure that the verse melody is distinctive and interesting.
