Basic tracks or basics are the initial recording of the rhythm section prior to any overdubs. Basic tracks are the foundation for the music that's being recorded and any other parts that come afterward. So if there's something faulty in the recording, it's usually going to cost time and money to fix things later. That's why it's essential that the basic track recording is as good as it can be, both sound and quality-wise. In this video, we'll look at how to prepare for a tracking session that accomplishes just that. While many modern recordings are made with only a few players playing at once, most recording veterans prefer to have as many players as possible during the basic tracking date. The reasons? The vibe and the sound. Well, such a session can be rather nerve- racking and complexity for the engineer, it can be a lot of fun as well.
