Congratulations on making it through the course. Now you should be a lot more familiar with some of the most common mic placement and studio practices used in professional recording sessions. Your ear should now be more tuned what a good recording actually sounds like. That reference point is really important, so this will tell you when something sounds good or bad or right or wrong for the song. Remember, they are like so many other things in life, recording takes practice. The more you do it, the better you get. The more experience you gain, the more you learn what works and what doesn't in a particular situation. But never be afraid to experiment. Learning the fundamentals is important, but learning when to go against them is important too. Above all, have fun! You can sometimes create magic without it, but everything goes so much easier when everyone is having a good time.
