Publishing for mobile is a popular way of distributing content. It's hard to talk meaningfully about mobile publishing though, without first mentioning HTML5. HTML, which stands for hypertext mark-up language, is the main coding language developers use for creating web pages. HTML5 is the fifth and latest version of the HTML standard. Before HTML5, Flash was the main software used for publishing and viewing interactive e-learning content. However, as perhaps you've heard, many popular mobile devices don't support Flash. HTML5 makes it possible to deliver interactive content to non-Flash mobile devices. Kind of a big deal. There are some issues concerning HTML5 and e-learning content, though. Some web browsers, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, support HTML5 better than others.
