Building a nonlinear interaction: Limiting navigation choices and hiding slides
It took some time, but I'm done building the content for this interaction. There are still two things I need to deal with, though. Notice the Previous and Next buttons on the player. When the learner is in this interaction, I want them navigating via the hyperlinks. If they use the buttons, they'll probably stumble into a slide and get confused. I also need to deal with the slide titles in the left menu. I want to give the illusion that the interactivity is happening on one slide, so those have to go. I can deal with both these issues by closing this preview and heading up to Slide Properties. The first thing I want to address is the controls. When you're building a branching interaction in which you've inserted hyperlinks, you need to limit the way the learner navigates the interaction. For instance, on this Intro slide, I don't mind if the learner goes back to the previous slides, but I don't want to have a Next button on the player. If there is, the learner may click it and find…
