Using layers
- Layers are pretty much a staple of any art program. They're essentially like an animation cell. So, you're basically putting a clear-coat over what you've already drawn, so that you don't destroy what's already there. And you can work on individual layers, so that you'll always be able to go back and change what's beneath it, without destroying what you've done on current layers. So, just to give you an example, what I might do is use the oil brush to start painting in a sky on my canvas. So, just a quick fill here. And I might opt to open my Layer panel by clicking on the Layer pod. And by clicking on this "+" sign, I can add a new layer. All right, so there's my new layer. And it is selected. Okay, that green means it's highlighted. So the first thing you might notice is that you've got four different icons around the outside of your Layer panel here.
