Removing color with the Eraser tool

- What we have here is the Eraser Example from our Example Files. And I'm going to be talking to you about the Eraser. Now, the Eraser is a fairly straightforward tool. You select it and you erase your mistakes. But I think it's worth mentioning, the way it erases is slightly different than most of your normal drawing programs when it comes to digital art. Now, what you might be accustomed to, and I'm just going to use the Airbrush just to give you a visual example, with white selected. What you might be accustomed to is erasing away and it just kind of fades out. That's all good and well. But when it comes to ArtRage's Eraser, you do get that fading effect, but it kind of eats away at the grain. So where it was dug in deeper, you can see it stays a lot longer than it does where it was lighter. And that's because ArtRage thinks of the darker marks as having been dug in with a pencil. So they actually got pushed into the paper, so when you're erasing, it's harder to get rid of that…
