…So, a picture pane is one of the, one things in the materials…list that you'll probably think, oh, I don't really need that, I'll come to…that later, but it can be so important in the drawing and really give…you a confidence in actually composing a…composition and just getting simple lines down.…Because we can draw on it and wipe…off drawings, it can really get you working quickly…with your drawings and take away some of…that fear of the white paper in getting started.…So, here we have a sheet of perspex and a black…frame with a hole cut out of it in the center.…
We've also got two pens that we'll be working with on the perspex.…We've got a permanent marker and the wipe-off marker.…Now I always get the two confused because it's so similar,so I always mark the…bottom of my permanent marker just so I don't draw on the prospects with that.…So what you can do with the wipe-off marker and…this is why it's going to be so handy when we're…looking at our drawings, is you can write on top of…it ad then just with a bit of damp paper towel…

4/28/2014Shape: By focusing on the shapes of the objects (and more importantly the shapes between the objects) you can view subjects with a whole new outlook and focus.
Simplicity: You'll get better results by concentrating on simple subjects and drawing techniques that will still prove powerful when used together.
Structure: A structured approach makes drawing easier to master.
Each chapter in this course is built on these three principles, combining drawing theory and practical examples with worksheets and drawing assignments. Will Kemp brings his passion for teaching and infectious love of drawing together in these lessons. You'll learn about line, value, tone, negative space, and perspective, and come away with the confidence to start making drawing a daily practice.
This course was created and produced by Will Kemp. We're honored to host this training in our library.
