- Any discussion of presentation always starts with how many options to share. Hopefully, that's something that you've arranged with your client in the early stages of negotiation. More or less than expected is an awkward conversation at best. Paul Rand, who notoriously presented only a single option when asked by a client about presenting options, said, "No, I will solve your problem "for you, and you will pay me." It was up to them if they used it or not. I know other firms that may show dozens of solutions in phases over the extended period of time, but I fall about halfway between those two and believe it's easy for a client to start swimming when the field grows too deep. One absolute criterion anyone should follow is to only show what you have complete confidence in. Our presentation is nearly always given in person.
