Setting up the Cintiq 22HD

- Because the Cintiq is both a display and pen surface rolled into one, there's a bit more in the way of getting it hooked up and running than the Intuos, which only requires a single USB cable to operate. So let's take a look at the physical setup of the Cintiq 22HD touch. It's important to install the Cintiq hardware before installing the software, or else your Cintiq may not work properly. The first thing you want to do is to shut off your computer. The Cintiq 22HD has three cables coming out of the back for power, video, and USB. Determine if your computer has a digital, DVI, or analog, VGA, port. If your computer has only one video port, unplug your previous monitor, or add a second video card. For best results, connect the Cintiq to either a DVI-D or DVI-I card. For VGA operation, you'll need to obtain a Wacom accessory DVI-I to VGA adapter cable, available at the Wacom online store.
