- So how did your shape drawing come out? What was the hardest part for you? Let me show you how I approach this challenge. So I picked the topic of the giraffe driving a car and this specific style, I like to kind of keep my shapes somewhat geometrics and simplified and I actually created a whole book in this style this past summer and I'll include a link in the Exercise Files, you can check that out but you can see how I just roughly sketched out a giraffe, he's in a convertible because obviously his head would go through the ceiling and then I did my rough sketch on a piece of paper and then on vellum I just tightened it up and did my, what I consider a finalized sketch, that really defines the exact shape of how everything will form. Now it's at this point that I could've put a sheet of paper on the top of it and inked it, that would've been great that would've looked fine. But I decided to actually vectorize it.
