- In previous chapters, we've reviewed many different ways to mark up and annotate documents. Here, I'll demonstrate how we can put these features to work to maintain a set of redline, or as built, drawings. There are always a number of ways to keep track of as built changes that occur on a project, and we'll go ahead and look at two methods here. Either way, I always want to start with my for construction drawings, and that's what I have open on the screen now, and I want to build a layer that is called "as builts" so that I can track these markups separately from markups that I might apply throughout the course of the project. So, I want to go ahead and select the Layers tab on the left side of the screen, and again, select Add New Layer. We're going to call it Redlines. I'm going to right-click on that and call this the Markup layer, meaning that everything I do from here on out will be added to my redline layer.
