Modifying the built-in markups

- In the final section of this chapter on customizing and making modifications, I want to show you how to go even deeper with the customizations by modifying the properties of the built-in tools. By modifying a tool's properties, you can alter the tool to look the way you want it to look and you can even save the modifications as a brand new tool. In general, the properties of all the Mark-Up Tools can be modified in a similar fashion, so I'm just going to demonstrate this once by modifying the properties of the Rectangle Tool that is shown here on the right side of the screen in this Mark-Up Toolbar. Now right now, if I select that Rectangle Tool and apply it to the document, I get a red, empty rectangle. So let's select that again, and look at modifying its properties. To view its properties, I'm going to take this handle and drag this window pane open. And when I do that, you'll see there's a gear icon, if it's not already selected, go ahead and select that.
