Length and area takeoffs
- Now that I set my scale in the last video, measuring is easy, but before I just start pulling off measurements, remember that this software can really help you keep track of your takeoffs, and can even help you with estimates. This is possible because the program treats these measurements just like any other markup, meaning that it doesn't just draw a measurement on the screen, it records it down here in the markup log. That means I can leverage the features that we've already discussed to quickly capture and record these measurements and then export them for use in estimating or even ordering materials. Now to get started let's go ahead and go to the Profile tab and switch back to my takeoffs profile, and you'll see that when I do that, if I open my tool chest, I've now got a custom set of measuring tools for drywall and framing, electrical, mechanical, and concrete over here on the left side of the screen, and it's added the measurement tools to my windowpane on the right side of…
