Counting and quantity takeoffs

- As we've progressed through this course, we've seen how to use the search feature to find all of the instances of a particular detail. Now let's take a look at how to put that ability to work to perform quantity takeoffs. Now before I start, I do want to make sure that if I'm performing quantity takeoffs, I'm adding all of these markups to their own takeoff layer. So, if I don't already have one, I want to go back up here to the left side of the screen and click on the Layers tab, and choose to add a new layer, and I want to create a layer called "Take Offs". Now, I also want to right-click on that, and select Markup Layer, so that everything I do from this point forward will be assigned to that takeoff layer, and then I can manipulate those as a group later. So, I select OK, and on the screen I have my HVAC plan, and I need to start performing quantity takeoffs on all of the fixtures like the air returns and the air ducts.
