Join Thiago Santos Mundim for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the Trace Reference tool, part of Learning ArchiCAD.
- Okay, so now it's time to add walls and slab…to the other stories.…So if I double-click here on the first floor,…you will notice that everything is up here, and that's…because ArchiCAD different from 2D CAD.…You are actually drawing one story on top of the other,…and not one next to the other.…So then, that's where we're going to need…the Tracing Reference Tool.…And to activate that, you go to the Tracing Reference…button here at the top, and you can…actually see the story below.…
So here, you can snap on it so you draw your walls.…Make sure that everything is on top of the other,…and so on.…I'm going to also add some slab here.…That's okay.…If we click on this arrow here next to…the Tracing Reference button,…we have some further options, such as change…the reference to the story above or to the previous story,…et cetera, and so other options here that I prefer…to choose on the Trace Reference Palette.…
And to turn the Tracing Reference Palettes…on, we click on this button here,…and the Tracing Reference Palette will appear.…
