- [Narrator] Now that we have the beginnings of a building, we've started our elevations and sections and interior elevations and things like that, there are probably a few more data points that we want to extract from this model. So what we're going to do is we're going to talk about schedules. And so if you go over to your navigator and kind of collapse a few of these, there is an area called schedules. And so there's a few different types of schedules but let's look at the door scheduled to start with. So I'm just going to double click on that. And it's going to open up an XL type area that shows what doors that we have in the project. So let's zoom in. So I'm just clicking on this button at the very bottom that allows me to zoom in. And right now we are pulling, it's like six different doors out of the project. And let's just go back to the floor plan and see how many doors that we have in there. So it's saying we have six. So we have one, two, three, four, five, six. So we have six stores and some of them aren't pulling the room information from them. So there might be some adjustments to the zones that we need to make. So you can see that it's pulling the width, the room name, which is coming from the zone, the height of the door, the thickness, the material, if we've defined it, the fire rating, if we've also defined that. And one thing that's really powerful within this schedule window is that we can make changes to the substance or the content within the doors. So if I changed that to a 20 minute door and we have this five foot living room door that's are the double doors, I can change the width of this. I could change the height if I wanted to. And so let's go look at D zero one. And if I find easier, one up, see what I did is I changed it to a six inch door instead of a six foot door. So if I typed six feet and this one should be eight feet then we can go back to the floor plan and we could see that that is changed. So that's one of the really powerful pieces of this parametric software is that, you're not just making changes in the schedule and it's not just static information. You're actually changing the door on the floor plan if you make adjustments here. So let's look a little bit deeper into this, what they call the scheme settings. If you open that up, it gives you basically three different types of schemes that you can create. So what we're doing is we're looking at the door schedule and in this door schedule, it is sorting or extracting information based on this criteria. So what it's asking and saying, what is the element type? And it's a door, and it has a library part that does not contain empty. So any empty doors or openings, it's not going to put that into the schedule. And it's also not going to schedule anything that's a simple door opening and it's not going to schedule anything that is going to be demolished or on the renovation status is set to demolished. It's not going to show that. And then it's also not going to schedule anything that's a hotlink element or an element that has the door or elevator value. This panel shows what it's actually going to report back to you. So you have the width and then you have the panel thickness. You also have the leaf material, the operation, head detail, Jame detail, hardware set. And some of this information is just going to be static text information. Some of it is going to be parametric information that's actually coming from the door and then you can add our acoustic rating and remarks. So you can manipulate this pretty easily. So if you wanted to add a field, you would just click on, "Add a field" and so let's try glazing. Let's see if we can get some class information out of it. So if we just click on this window door see if there's something else in here that we might want to pull out of the door object itself. So we have fire rating. So maybe for some reason, we would want to get the wall thickness that that door is attached to. So we could double click on that and at the bottom it's added wall thickness. So let's see what that does. So if you go to the end, so it's pulling the information from the wall and it's telling us that the wall thickness that that door is being placed in is this thickness. So let's look at another scheme. Let's just look at the window schedule. So if I just click on that we can see it has a similar kind of criteria, nothing that's empty and nothing that's going to be demolished is going to be scheduled. And then again, we're looking at the width, the height, what zone number it's coming from, what zone name, you values and other information. So if we just push "Okay," it's going to open up that window schedule. And if I zoom in, it's pulling the window IDs, some of the room information out of it as well as the width and the height, the type, if it's fixed or not, I could change that here but just to kind of summarize, there are a lot of different ways that you can create a schedule. And there's a lot of information that you can pull from the model and starting with the door and window schedule is logical just because you're going to be using that pretty intensely as you create your projects, don't be afraid to kind of get in here and try to extract information from it. And so you can do it by elements. You can also do it by components. You can also do it by surfaces and finding out which surfaces are applied to which elements. And then just in closing, let's look at one other one. So we have the room area schedule. So we do have some zones in here. And so if we click on this, it doesn't look like it's pulling out any of the room areas. So there might be some adjustment that we would need to make with this. So let's just take off the demolished piece and let's take off this area and we'll put the room 'cause that's actually what we're extracting. And so you can see we have a couple different areas that we're able to pull out of it from the zone information. And then we can start to do some area calces for our entire building. So the zone tool, very powerful, but use the template as a guide, as you're starting to create your projects and starting to extract information. The template will help you kind of formulate how you want to start your extraction of information. But again, very powerful tool, very useful. And one other thing that you can do within this is you can extract it. You can do a save as and it will go out to a few different file format types. So you can extract it as an Excel file format or a tab delineated or DWF for PDF, whatever you need. And that can be useful if you need to do some offline calculations or assessments of your project. So that's schedules and it should give you a good start on being able to bring in and assess your projects, doors and windows, and other various objects.
