Join Thiago Mundim for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating a layout file, part of ArchiCAD: Management & Collaboration.
- [Voiceover] On this project I have here on the view map,…all the elements, all the stories,…sections that I have created.…I have also, all the views that I have created,…and on the layout book, I have two layouts only,…one for the ground floor and another for the first floor.…So this is a small example, but I have seen projects…with over a thousand sheets, and you end up with…a very heavy model, and many frustrating hours…waiting for the file to open, or to perform any change.…
So when your model starts to get too heavy,…there's a way to split the model from the sheets,…and this will make Archicad run smoother.…So to do that, first I'm gonna perform a file, save as…for this file, and I'm gonna save…a new file called layout file.…The reason why I saved as is because I want to use…the same sheet here, but it could…create a new file from scratch as well.…
So, I do need the sheets, but I don't need the model.…So I'm gonna go back to the ground floor,…I'm gonna turn on all the layers and unlock all the layers…because I want to do a Control+A, delete everything.…
