Join Thiago Santos Mundim for an in-depth discussion in this video BIM Server installation, part of ArchiCAD: Management & Collaboration.
- [Voiceover] When implementing ArchiCAD in your company,…it is likely that you will be using the Teamwork features,…and therefore, the BIM Server.…So, let's have a quick understanding…on how the BIM Server works.…The BIM Server is a normal computer like any other,…where we we install the BIM Server application.…It is the preference that this computer is…exclusive to the use of the BIM Server.…Then we have a project started in any computer…in your local network,…and we share this project to the BIM Server.…So, now the BIM Server has the project,…and your computer has a copy of it.…
Eventually, other users will join the Teamwork,…and they will also receive a copy.…So, every time someone make any change,…he can send it to the server,…and the others can receive this change from the server.…The BIM Server will store this project in the library,…in a folder that you can choose.…You can also choose a folder outside the BIM Server.…But make sure you have a fast communication…between the computer and this external storage…
