- [Instructor] The industry standard to share files between consultants when you work on a BIM project is through IFC. So let's say I have received an IFC from my structural engineer for this house and in ArchiCAD, the best way to place those IFC is through hotlink. So I'm going to go to file, external content, place hotlink. And here I'm going to add the IFC just like any other hotlink, so I'm going to go to select module, let's create a new module from file. Here's my IFC, then you can choose the translator. If you know which platform this structural engineer used to create the model, better, otherwise I'm just going to click general import, and then select, select. Now here's the thing. You should agree with the consultants to all use the same levels as your project. And the recommended option is to keep the model, the hotlink source, exactly as it is and the story and elevation as it is.
