Join Thiago Mundim for an in-depth discussion in this video ArchiCAD Properties, part of ArchiCAD: Management & Collaboration.
- [Instructor] The industry standard to share files…between consultants when you work on a BIM project…is through IFC.…So let's say I have received an IFC from…my structural engineer for this house…and in ArchiCAD, the best way to place those IFC…is through hotlink.…So I'm going to go to file, external content,…place hotlink.…And here I'm going to add the IFC just like any other hotlink,…so I'm going to go to select module,…let's create a new module from file.…
Here's my IFC, then you can choose the translator.…If you know which platform this structural engineer…used to create the model, better, otherwise I'm just…going to click general import, and then select, select.…Now here's the thing.…You should agree with the consultants to all use…the same levels as your project.…And the recommended option is to keep the model,…the hotlink source, exactly as it is…and the story and elevation as it is.…
If you choose to adjust elevation to story structure…of the host project, which is my project,…you either will change the position of the elements…
