Another very powerful GIS data portal is available through the Census Bureau. As I mentioned before, perhaps if you are looking at this from outside the United States, your national statistics office or census bureau has data available like this. I'll show you here, geography and tiger. That's where we'll start. Notice we have several pre-made products available through the census bureau. To download and bring right in to ArcGIS. In this case, we're going to look at tiger line files. These have been developed since the early 1970s. In an older dying system in the United States and basically you can think of them as vector, data, points, lines, and polygons. They include several features such as roads, and they also have rivers, and legal statistical boundaries that are available throughout the entire United States. Every year, they're updated.
