In this movie, Adam demonstrates his solution to the chapter challenge. He creates a project template centered on his hometown, Bellingham, Washington.
(chimes ring)…- [Teacher] For the first challenge,…I asked you to create a map template…centered on your city or neighborhood.…Here's how I'd tackle the challenge.…First I'd start a new project using the map template.…I'm going to give it the name Bellingham.…That's the name of the city that I live in.…I'll choose a location.…I'll put it in the desktop exercise files…chapter two, and I have this new folder here…called O2_12_SolutionTemplate.…Go ahead, and I double click that.…So I'll back up one, select it,…and then press the Select button.…
We'll go ahead and save it in there.…That'll create my new project…with a single mapped view, and it opens there.…Okay, next we'll go over here to the Map tab,…and I'm going to change the base map style.…Let's use the OpenStreetMap style.…Then with the explore tool active,…I'll hold down Shift on the keyboard,…and we'll zoom into the area that I live in…which is this part right over here.…There's the city of Bellingham.…Zoom in one more time, about like that.…Then I'll just click and drag to center it on the map.…
