So were you able to successfully find the projection information for Parcels Public? It's pretty easy to do, isn't it? You simply right click on the layer itself, choose the Properties. And here in the Source Tab, you can see the projection information is state plane California. Now if you don't know much about the state plane projection, you can read about it by searching state plane coordinate system in ArcMap help. In general, the state plane projection changes by state. As they have individually adopted the best developable surface that orients to their state geography. Because of that, state by state approach, this projection has a minimum distortion. It is the projection of choice for surveying, with only a one to 10,000 unit discrepancy. The last thing I'd note is that state's often have regions associated with them. Large states like Texas, for example, have five different regions of the state plane. In this case, we have the state plane California two zone for our Napa Valley…
