Exploring open-source approaches to GIS data

Open source approaches to Geo-spatial data creation are varied. I would like to describe one of the most common, the World of key whole markup language or KML. KML has become the markup language to describe Geo-location that's used in internet browsers to understand the mapping of points, lines and polygons on internet maps. The idea of markup is fairly straightforward. And you don't need to be an expert programmer to understand or use it. When we examine any web page coding in HTML, it usually contains a variety of tags. These tags tell the browser what to do. If you're familiar with HTML, you know that tags are denoted by the lesser than and greater than symbols. Inside the tag, the letter or letters, tell the browser what to show and how to show it. For example here, the p tag means to show a paragraph. So when your browser comes across the tag, in the HTML, it will take the text just after the tag p, and produce that in paragraph form.
