Skill Level Intermediate
- [Nick] Hi, I'm Nick Brazzi. Thanks for joining me for this course which will be a quick look at the new features in watchOS 3, the updated operating system for the Apple Watch. In this course, we'll start with the core changes to the Apple Watch interface. Glances are gone, but the dock has been added, which is a different way to very quickly access your favorite applications. We'll look at the new controls for configuring a set of watch faces according to your style and preference. Then we'll talk about the apps that come bundled with the Apple Watch software.
I'll start with a movie where I'll take a quick tour around some of the smaller app updates, and new apps that have been added including the Find My Friends app, Reminders, Breathe, and the Heart Rate app. Then we'll spend a bit more time focusing on the updates to Messages, looking at the new options for replying and the support for incoming messages with rich animation. Then we'll finish up with workouts and activity so we can see how the Workouts app has changed and how you can share your Activity data with friends or competitors.
So if you have a new Apple Watch or recently updated your Apple Watch, you might want to join me as we take a quick look at the major new features in Apple watchOS 3.
