- We're looking at a RAW+JPEG image right here. What does that mean? Well, that means when I took this picture I captured both a JPEG and a RAW. That is a setting I can do on my camera. That's a setting that you can do on most enthusiast cameras. And the reason why, one would want to do that, you may be wondering that at this very moment, is because if you're using a special effect such as black-and-white or dramatic-filter or something, that effect will be applied to the JPEG but the RAW remains the RAW. Now, in this case, what I'm using is a 2.0 X (Doubler) on an Olympus PEN-F, which is very good. You can see the image quality is quite good. So, the image that has a magnification is the JPEG but the RAW will still be the RAW, the original shot. Sometimes you want to work on the RAW, sometimes you don't care.
