It's not just for iPhone photography

- There's one, what I consider a misconception that I'd like to clear up at the early part of our time together, which is Photos is only for people who shoot with their iPhone, or for Snapshooters. And I get that quite a bit at my workshops and so forth, when I say "Hey, have you tried Photos for this?" and they go "No, no, no. "That's just for people with iPhones." Well, the fact of the matter is, at least for me, is that isn't true. (laughing) That isn't true. I use Photos because I do use an iPhone, and I do use an iPad, and it's super convenient, right? Because if I take a picture with my iPhone, it just automatically goes into my Photos library here. So that's fun. But I use it for all sorts of stuff. I use it with my other cameras, I use it for all sorts of goodies. And the only time that I don't use it is for my commercial work, and that's only because I'm shooting hundreds and thousands of photos for clients, and I don't want them to fill up my iCloud library. So my commercial work goes in another application, and then all my other work, all the work for me, goes in Photos and I absolutely love it and I use it for all sorts of things. So what we're looking at right here is even in this particular library, our exercise files, these are my iPhone shots that are in here. So yes, I do have some iPhone shots in here, and I love em. And it does things like live photo, which I really dig, and it automatically geo-tags images, which I really like. And the movies are a snap. I love it! And all of that goes right in here. However, if we go to the overall library here, you'll see that all these other shots were shot with other cameras. (laughing) They were. So a whole bunch of stuff here came from outside my iPhone, outside my iPad, and shows up here in my Photos library. So I guess my bottom line point to you is, as we engage in this together, you never have to apologize for using Photos for all your photography. Because between the editing extensions, between the new capabilities that are coming in, between being able to use your iPad as a tablet, for marking up images. All that stuff makes Photos a real application for real photographers. Use it the way that you want. If other people don't understand why you like Photos, that's okay because that's just the way the world is. But you and I know how cool this application is.
