If you have access to the exercise files as part of your membership, you have access to the original images that are used in this training. This video shows you how to load these files into a new Photos library. Follow along with Derrick Story as he shows how to take full advantage of this exciting photo management application for Mac users.
- [Instructor] For viewers who have access to the exercise files I have a beauty for you. I have this entire photos library just waiting for you. (laughing) Now, the way that I've done this is that this is the library in its end state. In other words, when we first start doing movies in chapter one and chapter two and chapter three the library doesn't look like this. At least not quite yet. Because well, we haven't done a lot of these things yet. So you won't see all of these pictures.
For instance, these pictures come in a little bit later. Sometimes you'll see pictures in states. Here, right, or when you open the exercise files, that haven't happened yet. For instance, when we converted this shot right here to black and white. Well, that didn't happen right away. That happened later. So what you're seeing right here with the exercise files is the library after we've done all of the training. Now here's the cool thing about that is that you can go back to the beginning with any of these images and follow along if you wish.
For example, on this shot right here, if you want to see the very beginning of the shot and follow along, all you have to do is go to edit mode. And I just hit the return key. And you can revert to original right here. And it will look then something like this. I'm just holding down the m key to show you what that original looks like. And then you can follow along. So any of these images that have been edited, adjusted in any way, you can always go back to the original image right here, revert to original, and then follow along if you wish.
Okay, so I'm going to go ahead and just tap done here. And we're going to leave this alone for right now. I wanted to show you how to do that. Now, the way that the exercise files look is they are all in a container. And that's one of the nice things about photos. All the metadata, the location information, the master images, the whole kit and caboodle as we say, is right here in this container. And this is what's available to you. Now if you have photos for Mac OS High Sierra, and that's the version that you need to access these exercise files right here, if you have that, all you have to do is quit the app.
Double click on this icon. This is after you've downloaded it. And then, the application will open using the library that we have been looking at. Right here. And then you can follow along. See what I did with these different images. And hopefully master this application in just the very short while it takes to view the movies in this training. So that is a look at the exercise files. They're ready for you. Just remember, you can revert to original. And that all of these images will be added and grow and change and do all that fun stuff as we work through these different movies in this training.
It's very exciting. And I'm so glad that you're here joining me for this adventure.
